| Do I need a bike Licence? Yes. You
will need a current Motorcycle Licence. A current Learners Licence for bikes of 250cc or
less is acceptable, or a current Drivers Licence with a Motorcycle Licence endorsement,
for any bike over 250cc, and you will need to be at least 25 years of age. An
International Licence, or a Riders Licence from your country of origin is usually
acceptable. For non Australian residents a passport is required for identification. What kind of bikes do you have? We have a selection of
current model road bikes suitable for touring around Tasmania. See the bikes section for more info.
What is included in the price? A full face
helmet for the rider, insurance, gloves and the first 200Km of riding.
What is not included in the price? A helmet and
gloves for the pillion. You can hire these for $10 per day or $50 per week.
Jackets can also be hired for $10 per day or $50 per week. Speeding or parking fines
are also not covered!
What else is available? We have leather
jackets, gloves, wet weather overpants, Gearsack bags, Gearsack soft panniers, helmets for
pillions etc., all available for a moderate fee.
What do we need to bring? We supply a helmet,
however we recommend you bring your own if possible. Expect low temperatures so
bring thermal underwear as used for skiing. Also wear boots rather than shoes, when
on a bike to keep your ankles warm.
Will it rain? Probably if you are away for a
week or so. Parts of Tasmania have high rainfall. This makes Tasmania green
but it also means rain proof riding gear is better. Only going away for a weekend?
Then the best thing is to check the forecast.
Where is Evandale? Evandale is in the
northern part of Tasmania near the Launceston Airport. See finding us for more details.
