Rodger and Rhonda came to Tasmania in 1995 for a holiday then planned to move down here one day. Rhonda worked for a national company and that day of reckoning came when Rhonda was offered a promotion to become the manager of the Tasmanian branch. This meant Rodger had to make some critical decisions, and get himself set up for a new laid back lifestyle to fit in with Tasmania. Out would go the dark business suits and briefcase; good bye to the uniform of a senior Manager for Westpac Banking Corporation; and hello to the open neck shirt and relaxed attitude of a self employed man, hiring out motorcycles to interesting people. Motorcycles were not readily available for hire in Tasmania at that time, and market research showed Tasmania to be the most highly regarded state to tour by motorcycle.

First one bike was bought and registered as a hire bike. This worked well. Another bike was bought, and another and another etc. Still only a small business, they love the life away from the city and talking with folk who are travelling.

Rodger rediscovered bikes when trail bikes were invented and became a keen motocross and enduro competitor for about 10 years. Tasmania meant a great place for a road bike and he was soon instructing riders wishing to obtain their motorcycle riders licence. He is now actively involved in the Tasmanian branch of the Ulysses Club and the Tasmanian Branch of the Motorcycle Council of Australia.
